Spring Baking in The Kitchen with Kids Saturday, April 2, 2016 1pm-3:30pm Kehli Mehl, Mehl’s Bakery
Let your kids get creative with master baker, Kelli Mehl, for an educational, imaginative and delicious afternoon in the teaching kitchen! Youth ages 9-12 will learn how to prepare an array of scrumptious goodies such as flower cookie bouquets and filled cupcakes. If you are lucky, they may even come home with some tastes for you! Classical Sauces & Sous Vide Monday, April 4, 2016 6pm-9pm
Sheridan Nice, Mona Lisa’s Gelato & Cafe Sous vide (pronounced soo-veed) means “under vaccum” in French. It is a gourmet culinary technique long used by chefs worldwide, but now accessible to home cooks. The sous vide cooking technique involves cooking food in pouches, submerged in a water bath held at a precisely controlled temperature. Learn how you can cook almost anything sous vide, from meat, seafood, poultry and eggs , to vegetables, desserts, yogurt, and even infused syrups and liquors. Sheridan Nice, classically trained chef and owner of Mona Lisa’s will share some of her favorite recipes as you enjoy sampling what you prepare.

Joe Deel from the Bristol Burger Bar will be in the teaching kitchen to stoke up the grill and share his gourmet burger making secrets! Learn how to choose your beef, make complimentary sauces and sides and use seasonings to enhance the flavors you are looking for. Culinary Essentials: Skills to Know Monday, April 25, 2016 6pm-9pm Matt Henry, 128 Pecan
This class taught by chef Matt Henry of 128 Pecan will cover the basic science behind culinary arts. A simple introduction to pairing foods, spice/herb uses, and guidance on the essentials of knife skills, food handling, and safety. Most importantly, participants will learn the art of saute which allows for making thousands of simple, delicious meals in only a few minutes. Matt is a licensed culinary instructor who holds a structured, but fun and creative classroom!
Summer Appetizers on the Porch Monday, May 9, 2016 6pm-9pm Susie Buckner
With summer entertaining right around the corner, join culinary expert and instructor, Susie Buckner in making simple but delicious appetizers and beverages that can be made in advance and pulled out at a moments notice. Wow your guests with these goodies, and they will think you spent hours in the kitchen. There is nothing like enjoying friends, families and creative foods on warm southern summer evenings.
Cucina Rustica-Country Italian Cooking Monday, May 16, 2016 6pm-9pm Susan Lachmann, Women on Air
Susan Lachmann of WETS Women on Air will be in the teaching kitchen to share flavorful specialties learned from her first generation Sicilian ancestors. The ingredients are simple and the cooking style is basic, with ingredients chosen from seasonal gardens and local producers. With a firm belief that cooking is art making, the class will prepare and taste from a menu of pollo limone, funghi polenta, savory greens, plus a surprise or two! Susan promises family stories and musical sound tracks during this lively session in the kitchen. You can expect to gain some essential techniques as well as personal recipes. Susan has taught Italian cooking in Pennsylvania, Children’s programs, as well as appeared on Daytime Tri Cities and other cooking shows. She is known as “the chef with an easy style and high flavor”.

Take a trip around the world and explore the fascinating and delicious salad favorites from other countries. Stop along the way to sample such classics as France’s Salad Nicoise and authentic Eastern Tabbouleh. Enjoy side trips to several other countries to learn about their unique traditional salads. During this hand-on class, Chef Shaun will lead you from start to finish and demonstrate how to be creative when presenting your salads. Your trip will end as you enjoy a salad sampler from around the world! All aboard the Magical Salad Train!
Summer Sizzlin’ in the Kitchen: A Four Day Teen Cooking Camp
June 20-23, 2016

Enjoy four days of sizzlin’ in the teaching kitchen with four culinary experts. Students, ages 12-17, will learn the basics, getting creative and enjoy collecting recipes. On the final day students will prepare a graduation lunch for parents.
