Where to Find Dog Parks and Dog Friendly Trails in the Tri-Cities

Just as exercising and socializing are important to humans, exercising and socializing are also important to dogs. Dogs that get more exercise and interaction with other dogs and people are happier, healthier, and well behaved.

We’ve rounded up list of dog parks and dog friendly trails where you and your dog can stretch your legs and have fun. The City of Johnson City has designated specific park areas throughout the city as off-leash dog areas for your canine friend. Some of these are also managed by private organizations. Now keep in mind that you are always responsible for your dog, especially in a dog park. A dog park is not a place where you can just leave your dog and let it mind its own business. Watch your dog, pick up its waste, and leave if it gets too crowded or unruly.

With all of these in mind, here are some of the dog parks and dog friendly trails in the Tri-Cities area.

Willow Springs Dog Park (Off-leash Dog Park)

The dog park is approximately 1.8 acres and it is fully enclosed with a 6’ fence. Water fountains are available for both dogs and humans. We also have bone shaped dog pools in the spring and summer months to help keep the dogs cool while they play.

There are 2 sections to the dog park; an area for larger dogs and an area for smaller dogs. More than 1,000 ft of chain-link fence surrounds the 2 areas. Both areas have drinking fountains that also have a dog bowl at the bottom. There are 8 park benches, and 8 trash receptacles. At each receptacle is a box with poo bags.
